Eggnog Latte Recipe

Can you guys believe it, its 1st of December already? Where has the year gone? I can't believe Christmas is just around the corner and 2017 is only a stones throw away! To start Blogmas I decided to write my favourite Christmas drink recipe. An Eggnog Latte. I am sorry Starbucks, as much as I love your Eggnog Latte, I prefer mine just that little bit more as its so much more cost effective! So lets get started...
What you will need:
1/4 cup of milk - 2% fat milk
1/2 cup of Eggnog - I bought mine from an African Supermarket, can be found in World food section in local supermarkets
2 shots of espresso (recipe for this is included below)
2 tablespoons of sugar or to your taste
Whipped cream
Nutmeg (optional)
Milk Frother

Now first to make the espresso...There are two ways for this, so first method;
-Ground Espresso
-Espresso maker - I use the AeroPress

To make 2 shots of espresso, I first grind 2 scopes of Starbucks espresso beans. Next I add 2 ounces of hot water and use the AeroPress. There are plenty of tutorials on how to use the AeroPress so if you haven't used one before I definitely recommend looking it up first!

Second method;
IF you don't have an espresso machine or coffee maker, use instant coffee and hot water instead...

Add 1 and 1/2 teaspoon of instant coffee per 3 tablespoon of hot water = 1 shot.

For this recipe we need 2 shots so add 3 teaspoons of instant coffee to 6 tablespoon of hot water.

Now we have our shots ready, lets move on to making the Eggnog Latte!

Add the milk, eggnog and sugar into a jug, use the milk frother to steam and froth the milk. Next in a cup add the espresso shots, then the eggnog mixture, top it up with whipped cream and sprinkle nutmeg if you wish (I prefer without it!).

If you don't have a milk frother don't worry, I have you guys covered! Add the milk to a shaker bottle (e.g. protein blender bottles), then shake it as much as you can until it creates the foam, next add the eggnog and shake it again until its all mixed in and theres more foam. Then pour it in a cup and put it in the microwave for 30-40seconds before adding the espresso shots and then add the sugar to taste. Again top it up with whipped cream and nutmeg if you wish!

How easy was that?

Let me know if you do try this recipe out and send me your Blogmas post links as I would love to read them!
